Social & Community Development
To enable our people to live their best lives the S&CD team are focused on working from a whānau-ora based approach to working with individuals and their whānau to build capability, support strong families and create inter-generational strength and resilience amongst our whānau.
Our passionate and qualified social work team (3.5 FTE plus Senior Advisor) are all about positive outcomes for whānau.
We provide support & navigation for whānau to access information, services and resources so their pepi, tamariki & rangatahi have opportunities to thrive in a safe & nurturing environment.
The Social & Community Development Group provide the following contracted services: Care for tamariki, & recruitment and support for Iwi caregivers, Whānau Support Social work, Non-Violence programme for tane, Intensive programmes for youth offenders and link with many community partners in this mahi.
