Ngāti Ranginui have lived in the Tauranga Moana region for over 750 years. Through our mana whenua responsibilities we continue to this day, looking after and reaching out to both our iwi members and wider community, so that they may live happy, safe and prosperous lives in our beautiful region.

Our Rūnanga was established in 1989 with the purpose to advance the economic, social, cultural, spiritual, environmental and community outcomes of Ngāti Ranginui. The 10 marae of Ngāti Ranginui mandate and are represented on our Board. We provide health, social and educational programmes and services from Bowentown to Te Puke, but largely in the area that stretches between Ohauiti and north of Katikati. As our organisation has grown and our communities evolve, whilst also practising the principles of ‘manaakitanga’ or caring for others, we increasingly employ and connect with a wider range of the community.
